Limits, cooling off and self-exclusion

In line with the principles advocated by the South African Responsible Gambling Foundation (SARGF) and in compliance with the applicable regulatory requirements, we provide the following measures:

Deposit Limit

You may set daily, weekly, or monthly deposit limits on your account to assist in managing your expenditure.

Once a deposit limit is set, the system will prevent you from exceeding the pre-determined amount within the specified time frame.

A request to decrease deposit limits will take effect immediately. Requests to increase or remove limits will be subject to a 24-hour cooling-off period before taking effect, to protect against impulsive decisions.

To set or amend your deposit limits, kindly make use of the option provided below.

Cooling off

You may, at any time, request a temporary suspension of your account by activating a “cooling-off” period.

The cooling-off period may be set for a minimum of 24 hours (one day), during which time you will not be permitted to access your account or participate in any betting or gaming activity.

This measure is intended to provide customers with the opportunity to take a short break, reassess their gambling behaviour, and ensure that play remains a form of entertainment.

Self-Exclusion

Self-exclusion refers to deactivating your account from our services for a minimum period of six (6) months up to five (5) years. The following will therefore occur:

Account deactivation: Your account will be suspended, preventing access to any betting activities, including all games, sports or contingencies offered by Sunbet. This suspension will remain in effect for a minimum period of six (6) months, and your account cannot be reactivated under any circumstances during this time. To request a self-exclusion from betting with Sunbet, email selfexclusion@sunbet.co.za

Reactivation process: To resume betting after the minimum self-exclusion period ends (Six months), you must submit a formal revocation or upliftment request along with a report and/or letter from a registered psychologist confirming your rehabilitation.

Marketing communications: Upon self-exclusion, your account will be deactivated, and you will be removed from all marketing communications.

Customers who have opted for self-exclusion are encouraged to seek support from the National Responsible Gambling Helpline (0800 006 008), which provides free, confidential counselling and treatment services.
